Memorizing a speech may be the hardest part of public speaking!
It’s certainly the most stressful! For most of us, rote memorization just doesn’t work! If you want to memorize your speech with no stress and full retention, you need a proven technique that works with the way your brain is actually wired (not against it).
Enter the “Memory Palace”

Caveman Brains
Our minds developed in the caveman age. Back then, we didn’t need to learn long strings of data, or remember arcane passwords. All we needed to recall was “Is this plant edible? How do I get back to my cave? Is this the right hunting spot?” In other words, our minds worked in images! The Memory Palace takes advantage of this brain characteristic and makes speech memorization surprisingly easy!

Leave it to the Greeks
In the age of oration, the ancient Greeks and Romans had to deliver speeches all the time. Long ones, too! And guess what—they had the same brains we have today…brains that think in images (not data). In response, the ancients created a brilliantly simple memory technique for public speaking that is 100% valid today: the Memory Palace!

Put it in Your Mental House
The Memory Palace technique is simple in concept, but takes a bit of finesse to perfect. It involves transforming your speech points into vivid, easy-to-recall images, and then placing them in a mental house familiar to you. Once you’ve situated your speech in your house, the content is locked in and absolutely unforgettable. You simply walk your house and remember your speech.
